I have downloaded SBXF_PCDVTBETA_L3_2_10_0000.exe and tryed to install it
several times without any luck, I am going insane....I assume there would be
more people complaining about this hardware if the drivers didn't work at
all? What am I doing wrong!??

Try the instructions in the Beta Creative download READ ME file. The F8
disable driver signature checks option finally worked for me, but only after
allot of pain. Creative sucks!

readme file? i only got an exe file...but this time i havent used it at
all...maybe i must? I have now formatted my drive and reinstalled vista and
have pressed F8 and disabled driver signature check, but as soon as vista is
installed it downloads the XF-i drivers automatically and after 3 times
trying to install the drivers it says it suceeded....i reboot and press F8
and so on...but the god damn drivers still cant be loaded :S

Yeah, it's painful. The READ ME file is in the setup exe file at the
beginning. There is a way to permaenetly disable the signature checks using
command prompt, but i think once you get the driver loaded and recognized
using F8, it should take eventually, without having to use F8 each time you
reboot. One other suggestion: I've learned with Creative that it is best to
do a completely reinstall of Vista, and the very first thing you do is DELETE
all of the windows.old files, making sure you have backed anything of value
on a separate external hard drive. Then restart, so now its just fresh Vista
files on a clean install, and no older stuff. The very next thing you do,
BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, is work on the sound card, over and over and over
again, until it takes--and it will take, eventually, it just takes time and
perseverance and ready vocabulary of curse words like "Creative sucks major
ass!"

I gave up, im using my internal soundchip instead, i wait until creative can
come up with smth better before i can use my XF-i soundcard again..
