ATI has a Vista Readiness applet that tells what you can run or not in
Vista. Also, don't install CCC.

Installed drivers, uninstalled drivers, more than once, changed video card
to 9600 pro, still can't get vista to work right with the rc1 beta
drivers, the 80meg or 150 meg package. Catalyst control panel comes up
with nothing in it, if I use the 64 bit ATI drivers (i'm running 64 bit
Vista) vista has a problem in device manager, I have to update the drivers
using the drivers from XP Pro 64 (version 6.8) for vista to work right
(sort of), but no aero and the performance index is 1.0. I have installed
using admin privileges, but I'm not sure about the F8 key install? Does
any body have any insight as to how to install rc1 drivers differently? Am
I doing something wrong? I'm stumped. Vista sees the card in device
manager, but all it knows in info is that it's 256mb, and nothing else.

CCC does not communicate correctly w/ the OS - for ex., my CCC does not
recognize the monitor brand while the monitor drivers are installed and the
monitor is correctly displayed in Device Manager.
