Anyone know if Samsung intends to release a Vista driver for this printer? I
know it's discontinued, but only as of 12-18 mos ago.

I did -- they ignored me, unless a week isn't long enough to read & respond.

Well, unless someone from high up in Samsung reads these groups and is
willing to give you the information, there is no way to find out.

Many hardware devices, I fear, will be abandoned - just as when Windows XP
was introduced. The companies will use this as an opportunity to try to get
you to buy new hardware.

No, I meant that I *emailed* them.

I hope they realize that if they "abandon" me, the new printer I buy
ABSOLUTELY WON'T BE A SAMSUNG.

I'd expect the same would go for most people and the brand of printer they
use.

I realize manufacturers can't just spend tons of time writing new drivers
for older printers, but, there should be a liberal cutoff -- say 3-5 years
since the date of discontinuance.

RC-1 does not contain all the hardward drivers that the manufacturers plan
to release to MS in time for them to be avaialable at the time of the RTM
release.

Fair enough... I'd just like to know if there WILL be a CLP-500 driver, and
when.
Would be nice to test/(drive) Vista more or less fully functional. Not only
does this help work out the bugs, it also helps in making the buying
decision for Vista when it goes public. Also makes Samsung's geekier
customers (those of use testing Vista) more comfortable with the Samsung
brand, and more likely to stick with them in the future.

Maybe a posting on their website as to their plans on this would be helpful.
