Default Vista incoming dialup connections

I am trying to setup an incoming dial up connection to a pc in a remote
location and the only way of connecting to it is via a phone line (no
broadband)

The remote PC is running Vista Business, and i am connecting with an XP
laptop.
I can dialup, establish a connection and get an IP address from the vista
pc, however i can't browse to the shares on the vista pc for some reason.

I have tried switching off the firewall and still can't connect to the vista
pc, or even browse the network for it.

Anyone out there got any ideas?

Do a simple test. If turn off the firewall, can you ping by IP?

The workgroup names are diff in XP and Vista; they have to be the same. And
in Vista Network and Sharing turn on Network Discovery, and file sharing.
Turn password protect off in Vista, or in XP machine you will be asked for a
password to access Vista files
