problem (maybe directx or textures) in games
Okay, firstly sorry if this is the wrong place to post my problem but I've got no idea what causes it so what catagory it would fall into... I have: ATI X1600 Core duo 2ghz vista business My problem, a little while ago i installed two worlds and to get it to work messed around a bit, e.g. updated my directX updated the drivers for my graphics card. Now I have a problem. I'm not sure what exactly caused it but now in games things like menus (in virtually every game i've tried) are unreadable they look all scrambled (thats the best i can explain it). It also applies to ome things like maps and occasionally parts of the models (in shadowgrounds or second sight). It even sometimes happens to the background in solitare! I've tried re-updating both my drivers and directx but that hasn't fixed it and to be quite frank I have no idea whats going on, it's such a wierd thing but isn't just for one game or anything, it's mesed with them all. Any help would be awsome, I don't know if anyone else had had this problem, I've tried googling it and searching the forums but has no idea what to search for (menus sorta messed up in games and looks all scrambled, surprisingly didn't turn up anything). Anyway it's really getting annoying (makes setting graphics options virtually impossible & started trying to play GUN, and can't read the insructions at the start). Anyway, like I said any help would be fantastic (sorry for the rambling) Rob -- always_confused ------------------------------------------------------------------------ always_confused's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=27367 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=801955 http://forums.techarena.in |

Might be wrong but to me it sounds like a buggy driver. A lot of the new
drivers out there are betas and work better for the newer directx 10 graphics cards rather than the Directx9 and below (that yours falls into). Try updating your graphics card driver to a slightly older one- one that was prob released in May 2007 or earlier. I own a Nvidia GeforceGo7600 and when i update to the most recent graphics drivers, myself and others get random scrambles like you describe in the same places. I'm using an older (but still working fine) May 2007 graphics driver. Pretty ridiculous that i can't find one myself but anyone know where to get hold of one? -- always_confused ------------------------------------------------------------------------ always_confused's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=27367 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=801955 http://forums.techarena.in |
