No Sound - No Drivers Work
OK...thought this may help someone. I have a Toshiba P105 with the Conexant
High Definition Audio. Upon installing Vista RC1 I got no sound. At first the driver loaded but I got the Code 10 error stating the driver could not start. After deinstalling the device I could not get the driver installed. I searched all the blogs and news boards. I found a lot of people with the same issue and some recommendations but nothing worked. Here is what worked for me and I hope it works for you. I tried previously loading the XP drivers that came with my system and nothing worked. This time, instead or running the zip file automatically I unpacked it into a separate folder. I then went in and selected each application file's properties and set the compatibility to XP SP2. I then went in to the device and performed a driver update and selected my own location where the modified files were. The results were it installed immediately and began working immediately All I can say is One Challenge Down and Two to Go! Hope that helps someone. James -- Efficinet Inc. I also tried the disk that came with my Special Edition L2000 for drivers and that did not work either. It says "FAILURE." Please help me, as I would like to have sound with Vista, its almost worth going back to XP for.... |
