filepath/permissions issue?
I'm trying to view some easter eggs in a game I own, which requires me to
modify the .ini file for it. I did this in XP with no trouble, but Vista keeps telling me it can't create the filepath to save the modified file or that I don't have permission to modify this file. I've already adjusted the properties and "allowed" everything. Any other ideas? |

filepath/permissions issue?
Hi Tom,
"c:\program files" is a special folder in Vista, and direct manipulation of the files is pretty much impossible. What you need to do is save the modified .ini file to your desktop, then you can drag it to the right location and overwrite the original. Don't ask me why, but it should work. Hope that helps! Or you could elevate Notepad, or whatever with administrative rights. -- Paul Smith, Yeovil, UK.
