Default Compatible 5 button mouse

Has anyone found a compatible 5 buttom mouse that works on Vista? I have
three and none of them work - I can't program the additional buttons. I miss
my mouse! Please advise if you have found one that works. Thank you!

I realize that this is somewhat a dated response, but I'm sure others
will find this question by searching the web for Vista drivers for their
(wireless) 5-button optical mouse that doesn't have its own Vista
software.

I have a Medion (aka Tevion) wireless 5-button optical mouse for which
there is no Vista driver or programming software. After some
experimentation, I found that the HP Optical 5 Button Mouse (HID)
1.7.0.0 driver worked well. It contains a utility to program the extra
buttons. Therefore, this driver appears to suffice as a generic
5-button mouse driver for Vista.

Again, I realize that it is probably too late to help the original
person asking for help, but perhaps this will help someone else.
