Ok, so you've tried using your restore disk and 'repairing your computer'
doesn't work?

As far as getting into safe mode, holding F8 while the comp. reboots gets
you to where you can select it, if its doing the same as not going into safe
mode, it sounds like your boot configuration is screwed, in that case since
'repairing' isn't working, you may have to reinstall vista if you don't have
a boot disk.

As an alternate, do a system Restore to an earlier date.

Hello,

A Google search led me to your posting. I have had the exact same
problem with my Gateway laptop using Vista Home Premium. I was curious
if you were ever able to resolve this problem and get your system to
boot again. Did the boot disk work? If so, could you let us know how you
created it? Thanks.
