DVD CDROM Onboard sound
I can confirm your problem of no sound using AC97 onboard while playing DVDs.
Myself, using either Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center on RC1, I only get clicking from the speakers. I attempted to install PowerDVD XP 4.0 (the only version i own) and it reported immediatly the Installshield crashed so im unable to test if other software will correct this issue. DVD CDROM Onboard sound
I was unable to make either Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, or my
old PowerDVD XP 4 to work with sound. I did however do the following to restore DVD watching ability... Downloaded Video Lan Player: http://www.videolan.org/ Downloaded new Realtek AC97 Vista Drivers: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True After installing both, I am able to watch DVDs only in the VLC player with sound. Microsoft players can not play sound as of yet even after the new driver... "bbrown" wrote: I have the same problem going on with my CD rom drive and My DVD Burner Drive. DVD CDROM Onboard sound
What was your solution for the DVDROM fix? I lost my drive and it Device
Manager keeps saying "Corrupt or missing driver". I've installed RC1 on a MacBook Pro and it worked fine, till I booted today. I can see that it uses 'cdrom.sys' for loading the Matsu****a DVD. Any solutions would be appreciated? "feral1" wrote: I get no sound at all, with the AC 97 The DVD it was not even showing up in anyway shape or form.
