My home network consists of 3 XP desktops, 3 XP laptops and now a Vista Home
Basic laptop. The "base unit" we'll call it is connected to our HP Officejet 6110 All-In-One and until I had to do a restore on the Vista, all computers happily shared the printer sans argument. Since the Vista restore, it keeps sneaking into the printer settings of the XP the printer is attached to and makes itself the "default" printer randomly. This keeps everyone from printing until the XP is again reset for the 6110 to be the default printer. Has anyone else encountered anything like this? HP was of no assistance; kept blaming Vista. Any solutions? Thanks all! e.t. |

I have the same problem as you Vista Business in SBS 2003 environment. I constantly have to change the printer back to the default I want it be. Everytime I reboot, Vista chooses a new default printer for itsself. I was worried about Vista reputation when buying a new workstation and now I can see why. I you come up with a solution please let me know. -- dcarbon Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
