My printer is connected to the desktop XP PC. My laptop has Vista and I want
to network to the desktop XP printer. I need to install a new printer driver because of new Vista. Where should I download the new printer driver, the desktop XP or the Vista laptop? |

If printer were to be directly connected to Vista a Vista driver would be
required, however with the printer connected to the XP and set for sharing the Vista computer will print via the XP (Does here). "gun" wrote in message ... Where should I download the new printer driver, the desktop XP or the Vista laptop? You'll need drivers on the server (XP), to manage the printer, and to share it on the network. And you'll need drivers on the client (Vista) to let you access and use the printer. And you need the right drivers on each. http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2007/06/network-printing-from-windows-vista.html http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2007/0...ows-vista.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP 2005-2007 [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
