Need NIC Driver
"Tom Lake" wrote in message ... "Jeremy Ginsberg" wrote in message ... I installed Vista into a VPC (MS VPC 2004) but the network card will not work. I installed the add-on pack and still does not work. It shows up as a "Intel 21140-Based PCI Fast Enternet Adapter (Emulated)". I am running a Intel PRO/1000 PL Network Card. I have an Intel PRO on my motherboard and am using the XP driver for it on my Vista machine. It works just fine. Tom Lake Tom, there are *several* different flavors of Intel Fast and gigabit Ethernet NICs. Most of the copper gigabit series (PRO/1000MT/GT/CT) are not just supported by Vista (and have been since the 52xx builds), but have drivers included with Vista itself. However, there are *exceptions* (mostly toward the newer end of the NIC scale) Christopher L. Estep |
