Default Suddenly no web access

Hi.

Here is the issue i'm having. I have been using Vista x64 for more than
3 months with (almost) no problems, but suddenly, i lost web access. I'm
connected through D-Link ethernet router, my sister's machine running XP
is connected to this router too. There's no problem connecting to the
web from her machine, just from mine in x64 Vista ultimate.

I can connect to my sister's XP with no problem, browsing resources
etc. So the router is ok. But there is something that cought my eye.
Normally apps that try to connect to web will give an error if they
don't have access. But Firefox and Thunderbird will just freeze with
empty white window, but the application is still responsive. IE7 on the
other hand is giving me this normal no connection error. What's really
strange is the fact that i can't even connect to my router's config. My
router's adress is 10.0.0.138. When i try to connect to this adress, i'm
giving the same result as with any other adress. But it works flawlessly
from my sister's comp.

AND - all applications trying to access web will crash when i close
them. Crash. I don't get it. Right now i'm trying various things. NOD32
scan didn't reveal anything. All connection settings seem to be normal.
As i said, it started suddenly with no system changes, at least not from
my side.

BTW, i'm using onboard intel Gigabit NIC, can't recall exact model
right now.

Thx for the info, MaraST.

Yesterday I installed Vista x64 SP1 RC which was released in the Dutch
language this weekend.

Sad to say this didn't resolve my problems.

Anybody have an idea to resolve my issues?

Hi Mauser,

I'm having a similar problem, and neither the IE7 nor Firefox work, but
Flock is able to access all webpages. I don't have anymore connexion at
Home, but I was using it without any problem, and when I brought my
computer to work, I couldn't use the web traffic.

I have a dell XPS M1530. I tried different routers (all of them are
cisco routers) via wifi (with no security - no key), and it is
impossible to use IE7 or firefox.

Could you try to use flock and see if you can access the webpages,
because this issue is driving me crazy.
