Default Connecting to network works fine, but no connection to the interne

Hi, i recently bought an Acer Aspire 5920g laptop (with Vista Home Premium)
with which i tried to connect to the internet via wireless network. I have a
Sitecom WL-154 router and at another adress i have a D-link router. With both
routers connecting to a network works fine, but no connection to the internet
can be established. I took my laptop to a friend of mine, who has a SMC
router, and connected to his network where internet worked fine. Thing is,
that with the Sitecom and D-Link routers I am able to see all computers in my
network, but can not establish a connection to the internet. If anyone knows
what to do about it, please help, I am totally at a loss what to do.

There was a similar post in this group in the last few days. It turned
out that the poster's router was not Vista-compatible. I'm not familiar
with the Sitecom router but I would check with the mftr. to see if it is
compatible and possibly if there are any firmware updates. Recent
D-Links should be compatible but may need a firmware update. Check with
D-Link tech support about your particular model.

I contacted both manufacturers, and D-Link gave me a detailed step-to-step
guide about how to manually set my ip-adress. I followed the guide and at
last a connection to the internet is established. So it seems to be a vista
bug, because all the other computers with XP on it, don't need to manually
set the ip-adresses. Well, anyway, it works now, so thanks for the help.
