Default Network PC's with Windows XP doesn't show up

Hi,

I have a small network with 8 computers and 1 server.
The server is running windows server 2003, 5 pc's are running windows xp and
2 are running Vista, 1 with Vista Business and the other with Vista Home
Premium.
On the pc with Vista Business I can see all the other pc's and the server
for file sharing, but on the Vista Home Premium pc I can only see the other
pc with Vista. No other pc or the server are shown.
There's any kind of limitation of this windows vista version or any solution?

Thanks.

Can the Vista home ping other commuters by name?

David,

I'd bet that you have a master browser problem, caused by either a misconfigured
or overlooked personal firewall, or the NetBT setting not consistent.

Let's look at logs from "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server",
and "net config workstation", from both Vista computers and from one XP
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Default Network PC's with Windows XP doesn't show up

Hi David,

I have a similar probem. There is a home network with a cable modem plugged
into a router which is plugged into an 8 port switch with 5 computers running
windows XP. I just bought a notebook with MS Vista Home Premium and it
doesn't see the network and the computers on the network can't see the
laptop. I wonder if the is a patch or something that needs to be downloaded
but I can't find it.
