Default network signal strength indicator

Is there a way to calibrate the signal strength indicator in Vista. I have
my laptop sitting right next to my wireless router and it only shows 60
percent. No matter what gadget I use it shows the same thing. Thanks

why would u want it to read higher, if that's not the true strength? you
have a hardware issue.
