Driver reported an error.. what error?
The upgrade advisor says I can run vista, and in a certain way I can... but
60 Hz gets to me after a couple of hours. The ATI drivers designed for Vista RC1 (date 9/2/2006) are unable to comunicate with the graphics card. Reason: Code 43 - Driver reported an error in system manager (also the default MS drivers). There are a lot of topics on this issue, many people have this problem. Some say it's the BIOS of the mainboard, the chipset, or just a BETA bug (RC1 vista or vista drivers ATI, who knows?). The 'error' that the driver reported is nowhere in the eventlogs or custom logs. Where is it? Hardwa ATI radeon 9800 PRO, Asus P4S8X mainboard (sis 648 chipset) fully patched with latest firmware. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
