Default Slow external HDD on USB - Vista

Hi.

I have a problem on my Vista.

On XP Home all was OK.

Now On Vista when recording from external HDD to external DVD writer there
is very slow transfer. Its looking like a reading from HDD and then
recornig, reading, recording. (light on writer stops then hdd read) So 4.7
Gb takes ~40min.

Like I said on XP all was warking good.

Hardwa
Asus Pundit P1-PH1
External Trekstore 320Gb
External Samsung DVD writer
Nero

Greetings
Adam

Though I can't quite see how this has happened, it sounds like the devices
are both on the same USB bus, hence only one device at a time can be accessed.

Are you using a USB hub? If so, don't. Try moving the devices into
different USB ports, ideally, put one device into a port on the rear of the
computer and one into the front panel connector, this will almost guarantee
they will be on different buses. If you have no front panel connectors, just
try plugging them into the ports on the back that are physically furthest
away from each other, this again should ensure different buses.

Hope this helps.

Seb.
