There's quite a few posts about accidentally deleting the recycle bin. Mine
keeps disappearing without me going anywhere near it - honestly!

I thinks that is what is happening to other people too.

right click Desktop "customize" or "personalize" is your way ( i use the
german version, but I hope you know what I mean.. )

Then, in the new open Window you will find on the left side a link
"customize Desktop Icons" - there you can turn on the "My Computer"
"Recycle Bin" "My Documents" "Network" and so on.

Once this feature is used (check - uncheck - check ), the Recycle Bin seems
to stay where he belongs ( if you want him on your Desktop.. ) I am glad
that one can turn the whole thing just off, as I do not use the Bin, I
delete everything in one turn ( for security reasons )without asking me, if
I really want to and without storing the files only in the Recycle
Bin-sectors of my HDD.

yes Sascha I'd already done that, but it still seems to vanish every now and
then.
