That performance enhancement update has not done *anything* to help the
*horrendous* slowness in copying files across a network. Funny how I can grab files lickity split when coming to a Vista machine from a server but can't grab the files without waiting 5 minutes the other way around. I do love watching the pretty little green bar on the top move at a SNAILS PACE for that 5 minutes though....NOT! Microsoft, what's the deal here? Pretty simple operation. DOS 6 can copy files faster than this! We're not talking rocket science here. FIX IT ALREADY!!! BTW, I've got a 100MB connection connected to a fiber backbone going to a 1GB network for the servers. My XP machine sitting right next to me can do this operation 10 times in the time it takes Vista to do the same file copy... |

Amen, Norb! We are having the same difficulties! What patch are you
referring to? Our Remote Desktop file transfers are dirt slow. In our case, we are working over the internet, but with great high-speed internet service and Intel Quad Core computers, yet can hardly squeeze a 1 MB file through the Remote Desktop connection without a plunger! On the other hand, we download a 130 MB file off of an internet website in under 3 minutes. ******************************* "Norb" wrote in message news ![]() That performance enhancement update has not done *anything* to help the *horrendous* slowness in copying files across a network.
