I get the above error each time windows Vista boots up. The program is AVG
anti-virus Control Center. I think I know whats preventing AVG to load but don't know the solution. When I disable UAC I have no problem and all loads as it should. When I re-enable UAC is when this message appears.... but I can run AVG Control Center manually from within that message. My question is, is there a way to tell UAC to allow this program to run? I don't know if you can do that with individual programs as I've looked around User Accounts and see nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! -- Lee Lord |

Hi,
I too had the same issue with the AVG Anti Virus Software. However in order to resolve this issue, right click on the Windows Start up Message and then click on Show all disabled Items, it will ask you to run the System Configuration Utility. Click on Continue on the UAC Pop Up and then you will get a check box which will say " Do not show this message when the computer restarts". Put a check mark beside it and then restart. You no longer will get any pop ups. "Lee Lord" wrote: I get the above error each time windows Vista boots up. The program is AVG anti-virus Control Center. I'd suggest uninstalling AVG, then reinstalling the latest version using Run
As Administrator. I've even gone so far as to select Run As Administrator for all the executables in the AVG directory and my copy works fine without any messages from Windows Defender. (can't recall if I also used the Run As XPSP2 option as I did it back when Vista first launched). - John "Lee Lord" wrote: I get the above error each time windows Vista boots up.
