I can't seem to (consistently) access a shared printer on a Vista machine
from and XP machine. I've tried all sorts of things and can't get it to work. The XP machine gives a "computer is not accesible. you might not have permission..." error. No firewalls or anti virus software are running Proper drivers are installed Password protect sharing is off file and printer sharing is on public folders is on Network is set to private netbios over tcp/ip is on on both computers restrictanonymoussam is set to 0, seemed to work the first time but not later workgroup is the same Help! |

You may try to install the printer locally and re-map it. This link may help,

your best bet is to add it like a port... it worked for me... add it like a port and when it asks which port you call the printer via its \\xxxxxcomputer\printer -- the highlander |
