Device Manager reports 2 CPU
Does your Intel CPU support Hyper-Threading?
Do you have it enabled? Hyper-threading essentially emulates a dual-core cpu and windows will see it as a dual core. Jack wrote: I have only 1 Intel Pentium IV CPU. Device Manager shows it twice. Why?

Oh oh... Once you install the final retail version of Vista be on the

This is normal under XP Pro and Vista when you have a hyperthreading CPU. It's not quite a duel core, but it does make for a faster PC.
