Default Sharing between Vista, XP, Win2k on a home LAN on a LinkSys Router

I have a home network with 3 PCs connected into a LinkSys Wireless-G
Broadband Router and they are all on the Internet fine but I'm unable to get
them to see one another.
Vista Laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1705 connected Wirelessly
XP Desktop is a Dell Dimension 8400 connected with a cable
Win2k Desktop is a Dell Dimension XPS T700r connected with a cable

All three are on the Internet fine and all at the same time.

Vista Laptop (Wireless Adapter)
MAC = 00-19-7E-9C-19-26
IP = 192.168.1.104
Ping of Router(192.168.1.1) OK
Ping of Vista(192.168.1.104) OK (Self)
Ping of XP(192.168.1.101) FAILS
Ping of Win2k(192.168.1.102) OK

XP Desktop
MAC = 00-13-20-03-18-54
IP = 192.168.1.101
Ping of Router(192.168.1.1) OK
Ping of Vista(192.168.1.104) FAILS
Ping of XP(192.168.1.101) FAILS (Self)
Ping of Win2k(192.168.1.102) OK

Win2k Desktop
MAC = 00-50-DA-B7-9E-B4
IP = 192.168.1.102
Ping of Router(192.168.1.1) OK
Ping of Vista(192.168.1.104) FAILS
Ping of XP(192.168.1.101) FAILS
Ping of Win2k(192.168.1.102) FAILS (Self)

Where am I going wrong?

thanks - John

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb727037.aspx

Have a read of the above link.

Also, make sure that the 3 computers have the SAME workgroup name.
StartComputerright-clickpropertiescomp name, etc

Also, in Vista Network and Sharing:
! Network Discovery:ON
2 File Sharing:ON
3 Public folder sharing:ON (public folder in Vista is the same as Shared
Docs in XP)
4 Password protected:OFF
5 Your network now should be private.

Default Sharing between Vista, XP, Win2k on a home LAN on a LinkSys Router

::Computer (A) XP Home, SP3 fully patched, Webroot Spysweeper disabled,
windows firewall disabled, no other AV/FW currently, had PacBell
security but was uninstalled. Hardwired to PacBell HomeZone DSL router.
Can’t load LLTP as it is older than SP3. Changed workgroup to
“Workgroup” to match Vista. Shared printer::

::Computer (B) Vista Home Premium 32-bit, fully patched. AVGFree
disabled, windows firewall disabled, no other AV/FW. Enabled network
discovery, private network, shared folders, no passwords…
Internet, email… all work fine through wireless::

:A) can ping (B) and attached to shared resources.::
:B) can’t ping (A) see (A) or attached to shared printer. When
I ping by IP it times out, when I ping by hostname it displays the IP of
(A) but times out. Network map did show (A) one time but not again and
has never connected.::

::What am I missing?::

::Thanks in advance::

Sound like firewall issue. For troubleshooting, try clean boot.
