ECS KN1 motherboard and ATI RAdeon 1600 Pro Installation
I have now tried several builds of Vista including the 5744 (?) as the latest
on my ECS KN1, AMD 4400+ with ATI RAdeon 1600 graphics card. I get thru the file copy phase but when the system does the first reboot I get a blue screen at the point when it switches from the initial boot screen to something else. The codes usually found are kernel mode exception or IRQ.... or NTFS... The same code does not appear twice in a row. When I use F8 and select the low resolution option I get one step further to the point where Vista switches from the boot screen to the first greenish Vista screen, but then crashes again (BSD). BTW the upgrade advisor says I could install Vista ! :-) Elite Group folks say that the problem is/maybe the driver for the graphic card. How can I prevent this happeneing? Is this true? Anybody out there using a KN1 board. Thanks for all hints regards Thomas |
