Default RDC Vista laptop to XP desktop. Can't get desktop to print at lap

Hello...

I am at work here with a Brother printer which formerly printed documents
from home.

Becuase of recent HD failure on former work XP laptop, I now have a work
Vista laptop
I have an XP desktop at home.
Here at work, I cannot print any items from home.

After reading some posts here on the forum, it seemed like I needed the
complete driver from Brother.

I have gone onto Brother printer site and download Full Driver & Software
Package for HL2030/Vista system
Download complete/installed/runs and prints.

I also d/l the vista driver for the xp destop and tried to run it, says it
wont install because of wrong operating software.

I have plowed through every way I can think of to get my Xp file from home
to print here. When looking at my home desktop thru remote; all i see is
the Printer Queue waiting to print.

I don't know what to do next, seems like a marriage of Vista/XP working
together....ain't workin.

Now do I go buy another printer and if so will this same thing happen again?

hope someone can see something im missing

with warm greetings
Joey

could there be something to do with the computer names?

like the vista laptop having name "joe"
the xp desktop having name "joey"

Would there be something to this?
