Default Scanner Error Message - Not Enough Storage......

Tx for all replies.

After few days of trying, finally got scanner to work with Vista.
Unsure tho what exactly worked as installed driver had on disk
in WinXP compatible mode and also installed Vuescan from
R.Rogers' link (tx for that). Eventually scanner showed up under
Devices as working. Uninstalled Vuescan as scanner now working
with my ABBYY FineReader software.

Hi,

Not a Vista issue, it's up to the device manufacturer to supply compatible
drivers and software. From what I can discern, Benq doesn't support this
model under Vista.

The upgrade advisor can only report on what it knows to be incompatible.
From there, it's up to the user to determine this.

You might try something like vuescan (http://www.hamrick.com/) that will
often allow the use of an older scanner under Vista.

Tx for reply! Frick..... another frustrating Vista issue.

Surprised if not compatible with Vista as before installing,
ran the Upgrade Advisor and didn't show scanner as one
of devices non-compatible with Vista.

Hooked up my scanner and on boot-up, get following message.

"Windows found new driver software for your device but
encountered error attempting to load"

Benq S2W-4300U/3300U Scanner
(Flatbed Scanner 22)

"Not enough storage to complete this operation"

OS is Vista Ultimate SP1. Googled this error message, but
still don't understand what exactly means. Any further info/help
would be much appreciated.
