Hi,

If they don't exist then that isn't the problem. If your drive cannot read
or write, is it limited to just CD or DVD or is it both? If it's one or the
other, then the problem may be a clogged lens in which case a lens cleaner
disk may be the solution. If it's both, then the drive may have failed, or
the cabling may be loose, or the controller cable drive is bad or its
supporting driver file is corrupt/missing.
