Any help for this novice? thanks, Marteebus It's obviously related to the RAM. When you buy RAM, it must be the correct RAM for your motherboard, both in type and in amount of RAM supported by the board. A good way of ensuring that you get the right RAM is to either get it from the computer mftr. (or at least look up the right RAM at their website so you can buy it elsewhere) or use Crucial's memory selector tool. I usually buy RAM from Crucial because it is high-quality and their prices are good. Buying "bargain" RAM is a mistake. http://www.crucial.com If you did research the RAM similarly before you bought it, then test the RAM. I like Memtest86+ from www.memtest.org. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...ardware_Tshoot Of course, there is the possibility that you damaged your motherboard by putting the RAM in wrong but in that case your computer probably wouldn't boot at all.
