Default Keyboard

Hi Folk's, just installed a Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard. RUnning XP.
Everything on the keyboard seems to work EXCEPT the number pad. The Num Lock
is on - little green light shows - but it's dead, no numbers. I was told I
have to also push the F Lock key, but that didn't help.
Please, any suggestions?

Hi,

No, you wouldn't have to enable the F-lock key as well. You may have a
damaged keyboard, have you tried a different one, or tried this one on
another system? Most times when the number pad is non-funtional it is a
hardware issue.

Thanks for your response. Took keyboard back to supplier and it worked fine
in the shop on their computer. Not working at home.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your input - you're the only one with any suggestions - but fear
not, I will discuss any disappointment issues with my shrink.
However, as someone else may have a similar problem with their number pad
not working, I put on my backpack and zoomed off into cyberspace and found
the answer.
1. Click Start, Run, type "access.cpl" in the open box then click "OK"
2. Click on the Mouse tab, then Settings.
3. Clear the check box next to "Use Mousekeys when NumLock is..."
4. Click "OK" twice.

This works for me and my number pad. I am so impressed....
