Default ATI All In Wonder tuner question

I've been waiting for ATI to come out with Multi Media Center for Vista so
I could use the TV tuner on my ATI video card. Today I found a notice on
ATI's site that there is a known problem with the 1800XL (my card), that
under Vista, users will get a "Tuner not found" error.
Could another AIW user please tell me if their TV tuner/capture works
with Vista? Was the tuner driver installed at the time of installation? Is
it this particular model that I have, that's a problem or is it all the AIW
cards?
Thanks for any information.

ATI hasn't released the MMC software for Vista yet and the AIW cards won't
be detected by MS Media Center.

ATI has stated that they will release Vista compatible CPU intensive
software tuner drivers for its recent model AIW cards( I believe that means
he Xxxx versions like the one you have) , but I do not expect them to do so
until close to the January release of the retail versions of Vista.

Thanks for the responses. Their release notes implied that it was just my
model that had a problem. I'll see what they come up with. In the meantime
I'll stick with XP.
When you say "CPU intensive" does that mean that the capture/tuner drivers
won't be as efficient as the Win XP drivers? That's too bad. Sounds like a
step backwards.

No AIW cards have the requisite hardware encoder so no matter where
you get the drivers (where do you think MS gets its drivers?) the AIW card
will have to rely on CPU cycles to do the work handled by dedicated hardware
in other TV tuners.
