Default Ide controller not supported

I know that Intel is no longer supporting the 850MD but the D101GGC is still
being supported and that gives the same message about the ide controller when
I try to install. I need someone to point me in the direction to find a
solution please. Not sure this forum will yield answers. Will search for
more tech minded forums.

Thanks.

Your graphics card is also not supported for Vista.

I have a self-built system with these specs.
Intel 850MD
Intel Pentium 4 @1.7 Ghz
768 Mb Rambus
Radeon 8500 agp video
unsupported soundcard which I can pull out and use onboard sound

I run the Vista upgrade advisor on this system and also on two other
boards,
the Intel D101GGC and an Athlon K7. The only one that will allow
installation is the Athlon but that has some problems also. I don't know
what to do about the Intel boards with unsupported IDE controls which are
on
the motherboards. I can't find anything on Intel's site either. Any help
would be appreciated. I have not been able to find any drivers that it
says
I need.

We're sorry, but your PC cannot currently install and run the core
experiences of Windows Vista.
However, you may be able prepare your computer for Windows Vista by
upgrading your PC hardware.
You will need to take the following actions to run Windows Vista.
Upgrade your hard drive controller
Your Hard Drive controller does not currently support Windows Vista
No Windows Vista driver could be found for your system's hard drive
controller. You should not upgrade this system to Windows Vista unless you
are able to first upgrade your hard drive controller or obtain a suitable
Vista driver for your existing hard drive controller. Contact your PC
retailer to see if an upgrade is available.
The drivers for the following devices are not currently supported in
Windows
Vista.
Some of the devices connected to your computer do not support Windows
Vista
and may stop functioning after installing Windows Vista. If so, you will
need
to replace them with new models that support Windows Vista.

Default Ide controller not supported

IDE: Intel Application Accelerator [IATA_ENU.EXE] (1973KB) 2.3.0.2164
12/2/2002

I downloaded that from Intel.com and then used
c:\temp\iata_enu.exe -A -A -P c:\temp\I_AA\

To extract the drivers from the setup program. Then I zipped up just the
win2k_xp folder contents for you, place it on a floppy and it should work
with the F6 Command
