So my laptop running Vista home basic was connecting to the internet until I
downloaded and installed the latest windows update. Now major programs like
Itunes, Firefox, and IE will not connect to a webpage but small programs like
AOL Instant Messanger and the Windows Sidebar Weather tool will connect and
work but nothing else. Tried restarting, resetting and re connecting the
computer, wireless card, and i even reinstalled firefox. What could be my
problem?

Hi Chris,

If you refer to my post 'Updating Windows Vista' in the newsgroup 'Windows
Update' (dated 10/10/200), you will find references to my other posts which
should solve your problem.

Hi Chris,

Further to my previous post in this thread, you will need to uninstall the
relevant update before you can install it again. The update in question is
KB939653.
