I just cannot share my Printer between XP Desktop and Vista Laptop. THe
printer is installed on both machines. I just want to be able to print from Laptop through my XP desktop to the printer. It was so easy when XP had this. I cannot get the 2 to talk!!! Plus the Network Setup CD in XP, I'm afraid to use that in Vista, backward compliance issues. I just want to share the printer, instead of connecting the cable each time to print. -- -PB |

Vista home networking is different to XP; read the above. Get the two of them sorted out, and run the XP setup wizard in XP only, with both comps turned on. Plug the printer into XP, after XP file and primter sharing wizard is finished(above), then go into vista Network and sharing, and add a network device, namely printer on XP, browse for it.
