Unable to open pics in Windows Photo Gallery on my Vista desktop
I would try right clicking on the picture and checking the security tab and see if you have full control under your log-in. Check the "advance" also, I have never fooled with this, my name has full control. I would suspect that you don't have full control. ( Could be wrong here, just a stab in the dark) Hope this helps. If not I am sure someone else will have the answer. -- dbknox |

Unable to open pics in Windows Photo Gallery on my Vista desktop
FINALLY! I had the same problem, and think I found an answer - at least, this worked for me... It sounds crazy, but... copy all of the web / internet shortcuts that are on your desktop to a folder on your desktop called test (or anything else). Now try double clicking on a JPG image (assuming Windows Photo Gallery is still your default application.) *If that works - PLEASE post a reply here.* Then, one by one, copy the shortcut files back to the desktop - double clicking the JPG file each time to see when this happens again. When you find the offending shortcut, copy it's URL and delete the file. Then try double clicking the file again. Again - if this works, please post here. -- fun2163 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

Unable to open pics in Windows Photo Gallery on my Vista desktop
I can't believe I could have come here instead of figuring this out all by
myself. For All Others: Problem - occurs when you click on a picture and windows photo gallery (WPG) on vista will not open. When you go to a different directory with pictures, WPG opens just fine. Solution - remove any "links" (aka urls) files you may have in the same directory as the picture you are trying to open. What is happening - The url in the properties for the link is way to dang long. |
