Default Settings on my computer

I have got windows vista on my computer and I don't know how to get into
settings (It used to come up when I clicked on start with windows XP)

Anyway, the problems I'm having a-

1. My internet keeps cutting out after about 10 minutes if I'm not browsing
or typing on messenger.

2. A website will not load unless I move the mouse around.

3. If I play music on my pc it sticks unless I move my mouse around.

I think there must be something in my settings causing this problem, but I
don't know how to get into the settings.

Help me please!

Unless I am mistaken, what you are looking for is the Control Panel. when
you open your start menu, it should be on the right hand list, or you can
type "control panel" (without the quotes) in the search bar and it should
appear in the list.

or, if you are using Internet Explorer you can type "Internet options" in
the search bar to go directly to the internet settings

What kind of computer are you using (Desktop or laptop)?
how are you accessing the internet (DSL, Dial up, wireless)?
If you are using a laptop is there a difference if you are using it on
battery power or mains power?

There are other factors that could be the problem here (more than could be
easily solved without more information)
