Vista Pre-RC1 on VMware Workstation
Did anyone succeed installing Vista Pre-RC1 on VMware Workstation? If I boot
from the ISO image nothing happens anymore after loading the files. If I start the setup from a Beta 2 installation to install it on a second virtual disk the setup hangs after the first reboot. The ISO image is OK since I was able to install Pre-RC1 on a PC.

I installed with VMWare Server without issues...

Same problem here, trying to load Vista v5536 preview on a AMD 64 x2 3800+
and 1 gig ram. All it does is sit there with "windows is loading files" No matter how long I let it sit it just hangs. I am using VMware 5.5. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Vista Pre-RC1 on VMware Workstation
Uninstall VMWare Workstation and go with the free VMWare Server. This will
allow you to install v5536 + the additions. Once done, uninstall VMWare Server and reinstall VMWare Workstation. /neo ps - it isn't hanging and if you want the technical reason why vista isn't rendering the graphics in vmware, you can look thru vmware's support forums. Vista Pre-RC1 on VMware Workstation
Mike,
This is a known issue on VMWare Workstation. Server is not affected. 5.5.3 is supposed to fix it. No ETA on that though.
