I知 having the same problem. I知 installing into a Virtual PC 2004
instance with 256MB ram. It has been on "Setting up personalized settings for: Windows Desktop Update" for about 5 hours. (timing out and going back to login screen a few times) I知 using the July 2006 CTP "harleedavidson" wrote: Installing build 5472 under MS VirtualServer running on XP SP2. Setup nearly completes normally, but then presents to the dialog: Personalized Settings Setting up personalized settings for: Windows Desktop Update The setup stalls here, and if left long enough, the desktop times out and locks itself. I can click on my user icon to reactivate my desktop session, but it remains stalled in the same place. I've left it here for a couple of hours, but no progress. Anyone else have this issue? TIA, Scott |

They also recommend a minimum of 1 GB of RAM for a "Premium Edition" of Vista, which describes Vista Ultimate. There are many instances of successful testing done with only 512MB, however.
