Network printer.
I have been printing to various network (to an IP) and directly connected HP
printers. Recently I was printing backwards to an HP OfficeJet L7580 but it would print correctly if I connected thru the USB. Anyway, I found there is a feature for Mirror printing which was mysteriously set to On. So My advice is hunt around the printer properties or advanced features and switch off the Mirror printing option. "dave" wrote: I have a home network on XP with two desktop computers, each with their own printer... both HP's. I now have a new notebook with Vista. When I try to print to either of the printers ... the page is printed backwards. HP says they can fix it ... for a service charge. Me thinks MS should be responsible since this is a Vista problem. Regardless, I need my new Vista computer to print. Any help? dave |

Network printer.
I have the exact same problem. I just spent ~2 wasted hours of my life that
I will never get back trying to "chat" with HP's helpdesk on this. The man I was speaking to clearly didn;t know what he was talking about, nor was he actually reading my posts. He abruptly ended our chat with no warning after 2 hours, without accomplishing anything at all. I called HP, and for a price, they can help me. If I have to pay for help, I'll spend it on a non-HP product instead. This is beyond rediculous, it's borderline illegal. They are advertising that it (deskjet 3845) is Vista compatible, but only if you read backwards I guess!!!!! Help!!!!! "Bob Headrick" wrote: "dave" wrote in message ... Bob, Thanks for responding. My printers are HP Deskjet 3845 and HP psc2175xi. Once printed, if one were to hold the paper up to a light with the printed side toward the light, away from you, one could then read what was printed. I just installed a driver for the DeskJet 3840 series and in the "Finishing" tab of the printer properties is a checkbox for "Mirror Image". Make sure this is not set; if it is not try checking it and see if this corrects the problem. The PSC 2175 may have a similar driver option. Regards, Bob Headrick, MS MVP Printing/Imaging |

Yes, and HP won't allow any downloads for free to update them for Vista
either!!!! "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: It's not a Microsoft problem, it's a problem with HP since they write the drivers. Microsoft are not responsible for HP's errors. Even if the drivers are included in Vista, HP wrote them. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Windows Technologies - Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "dave" wrote in message ...
