I'm pretty certain I've heard of people using it on VISTA but whether
there is an "in the box driver" I never tried to find out.

I'm a little dubious about what the HP document that comes up if you go
to Software & Downloads / Deskjet 722C / VISTA since it says "connect
the USB cable ....." and the DJ722C only has parallel to the best of my
recollection (especially since it came out when WIN3.1 was still
current g) supported by:

You’ll need to buy
a printer cable that
supports bidirectional
communication (IEEE
1284-compliant), such
as HP C2950A.

in their Setup Guide .....

The driver is included in vista, but some features do not work as with
the old driver like two sided printing. However there are ways to get
around this by printing odd then even pages. The USB problem is solved
by purchasing a parrallel to USB conversion cable.
