Any way to retrieve the key?
Those of us that registered should be able to retrieve that info... "Colin Barnhorst" wrote: The Product ID (PID) is not the Product Key. There is nothing on the Welcome Center/More Details that reveals the Product Key or permits requesting a new one. There is a link for entering a new Product Key if the user has received one. I must have lost the e-mail with the key in it and I am thinking of running Vista on a new PC. I thought they allowed 10 (?) activations from one key? Thanks |

You getcha RC1 for the unwashed masses who buy the MSFTie toys no matter
what they ship in 72 hours or so--maybe less. Plan the neighborhod block parties now. Get that champaign on ice and boogie down. Form a conga line and do the Jimmy Alchin stomp toward mediocrity. Sinofsky makes the trains run on time--but fails to notice they ain't on track. Ballmer refueses to say what brilliant stuff he alludes to got left on the cutting room floor but I can see plenty that should have made it in. RC1is underwhelming to say the least. It doesn't "rock" unless you're medicating yourself heavily. I'd like to find things pleasantly fixed but can't. I'd like to find neat new developments but I sure can't. Yeah I read all the ezines including the guys at www.pro-networks.org I can understand why Brian Valentine got tired of fighting this mediocrite and left for Amazon after the RC1 party Friday. I'd have been drinking a lot of beer thinking about what I just released that hadn't changed significantly and is essentially what will RTM. VISTA 2007! You ain't got long to wait for a PK. Watch Colin's posts, and he'll help ya use it. Enjoy. Industry Testing of Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 Begins Microsoft will broaden popular Customer Preview Program to allow for new participants; U.S. estimated retail pricing details now available http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...ndustryPR.mspx Translation: Here's da sales too. Give us yo money. We're shipping it with a panopoly of flaws/and plenty cut out that are in RC1 dispite Allchin's mantra they are always working for improvement. This puppy RTMs as is in 45 days. Little touches like icons in RC1 setup matter not a bit. Testing Vista RC1 on a Toshiba M4? Don't. http://www.longhornblogs.com/robert/...ecra_M 4.aspx DEv vs. Test vs. PM http://minimsft.blogspot.com/2006/08...est-vs-pm.html Time to Clean Vista's House http://www.longhornblogs.com/robert/.../31/16758.aspx Device Manager stays broken since the '95 Launch on August 24, 1995. It can't diagnose a corrupt driver period. It does not browse properly to find the driver files but you should and can to get drivers into Vista. Toolbar stability on Win Mail's main interface--lol consider it one of the MSFT games--"Win Mail pinball" --look up and a whole new batch of unneeded buttons are on the main interface and the crucial ones may be gone. Win RE team continues to fail to have a reliable startup repair. Welcome to Vista launch. I know there are synchophants for MSFT all over the place. I see it. It's hard to watch. I know that there are cheerleaders whose level is "Vista Rocks" lol if you see Aero Glass or some tiny gui improvement. The little slider on Explorer must really excite you. Gee you can slide it and make the icons go up to 2" wow! But the organization of Show in Groups is gone that was in XP no matter how you configure Explorer. Third party explorers will be rolling out in droves.
