Processor speeds
Processor speeds are largely irrelevant these days due to the rapidly
changing state of processor development. The last time that I checked, Intel processors were favored for their performance - but there was news about AMD "catching up" very soon (haven't heard about that yet). The decision regarding a processor is one that only you can make. Unfortunately, it takes a bunch of reading and research to make an informed choice. You'll find people who swear by the AMD's and you'll find others who swear by the Intel's. Who's right? I dunno. Finally, some consideration must be given to how you'll use the processor. Do you game? Do you do a lot of video editing? Or, do you just surf the web and check your email? Each processor has different things to offer for each of these scenarios - and it'll get even more confusing as you blend them together to try and get the most effective mix for your system. Now, all this having been said - I'm an Intel fan myself. - John "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: AMD Desktop Processors Introduction http://www.newegg.com/Product/Catego...d=138#top ic1 Intel Desktop Processors Introduction http://www.newegg.com/Product/Catego...d=137#top ic1 -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User --------------------------------------------------------------- "Jim Brown" wrote in message ...
