Lost Good Lexmark Scan software to Inferior Vista Scan
I really liked my Lexmark All-In-One software when I had Win/ME. It had
OCR, you could clean up scans and make adjustments easily, as well as call for some very high resolutions. And it did it all in a minimal step method. Lexmark still has the software, but it isn't available for Vista. Instead, they only provide a "minimal" driver because Vista is now doing the scans with Windows Fax and Scan. Since I have Windows Ultimate 64, I have Fax and Scan. But it is minimal and requires hopping from one Windows utility to another. And none provide me with the features I mentioned in the first paragraph. I could rebuy (I already paid for the Lexmark software when I bought the printer) for another $40+ from folks that won't upgrade for more than a year unless you pay $70. Oh, how I miss my Lexmark scan software! John |
