to set up one network where i could access the wired computer from a computer on the wireless? |

Yes. Have a read of the above. I prefer to go through the router to set it up. You set your network (SSID) up through the router after you log into it via your wired computer. The prompts are pretty easy in the router software. Also, set up WPA2 Security to stop neighbours stealing your band width.
