Default Install RC1 fail

I tried to upgrade from beta 2. First identified Nero so I deleted
completely with their clean tool. Then the installation went smooth but
final reboot just keeps repeating. Will not load into windows, just cycles
thru rebooting. I tired safe mode, repair and rollback. Nothing works.
Anybody else ?

My system does a similar failure at the first startup point
except that while safe mode also fails I can roll back to build 5384
My system is an Asus A8NVM-CSM with 1GB memory and a AMd 4200X2
This failure mode was seen in pre RC1 and RC1.

We see exactly the same problem. New PC, clean XP install, upgrade - seems
to progress fine, no errors. Never boots up after first reboot - continually
cycles. Also tried a clean install, same behaviour. This is meant to be our
Vista eval rig, so far the eval isn't going to be good.

Anyone got any ideas?

Again, my system goes into a reboot loop just after the "starting for the
first time" message.
I have been looking at the log in the \panther\setupact files, it seems my
problem is a regristry based with the failure to clean up a few files just
before starting up.
Can anybody help me with this problem ?
