I have managed to get my XP laptop recognised on my network by my Vista
desktop. When I try to acces my laptop through the network on my Vista computer, I am asked for a username and password. I don't know if the password I am being asked for is the one I have to enter when I turn on my laptop and as for the username, I have no idea. Help please. norto |

Help please. norto On the XP laptop, go to Control PanelUser Accounts. Look at the user accounts listed and write down the names. If this is a home laptop and you didn't create any user accounts yourself, you may see something like "Owner" listed. Then go to the Vista machine's Control Panel and create an identical user account there. Create a password for that account that matches the one on the XP laptop. Yes, this will be the same as the one you enter to get into your Windows account. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |
