I am running EI7 and Vista Basic Home Edition. When I go to my college, or
even at Borders Bookstore, I cannot get on the Internet. I can connect to the wireless network and it says I have an excellent connection, but when I click on IE to get on the Internet, the screen comes up and says that I do not have an internet. I have a wireless router at home and can connect with no problems. It also picks up the neighbor's wireless signal and can connect to it with no problems. I have clicked "Diagnose" to try to correct the problem and have used every suggestion that comes up, from disconnecting and reconnecting to the network, to resetting the IP address. Please help. This is a very irritating problem. If you have any suggestions, please use layman's terms as I am not a computer person and am not familiar with the jargon. -- Thanks, jbroxton316 |

you need to post the text output of
ipconfig /all from an elevated command prompt when the machine is in this condition (not when you have connectivity). it is really impossible to diagnose based on what you've posted thus far. I think this is what you are looking for. I went into command prompt and
typed ipconfig/all and here's what i got. FYI: At this time, I was "connected" the the network that I am having problems with but still couldn't get online. I read the info on the link you gave me, Malke, and saw the part that
explains how to disable the IPv6 but I do not understand the jargon used. I don't know anything about the registry editor or binary codes and things of that sort. Is there any way you could explain this in much more simpler terms. -- Thanks, jbroxton316 "Malke" wrote: Jbroxton316 wrote: How do I disable IPv6?
