I am attempting to perform an upgrade install from Beta 2 to RC1 and
getting: "Windows was unable to create a required installation folder. Error Code: 0x80030309". There is plenty of free space available on the primary partition. What else could be causing this error? |

It was a media/DVD drive issue. My DVD ROM drive was not properly reading the RC1 disk burnt with my DVD writer. Install works if the disk is loaded from the drive it was written with. Error message description was not very helpful. Still not successful with upgrade however. Black screen at end of upgrade process, possible video driver issue. Will post details in the appropriate thread. |
