Default unable to browse internet

Hi all,

I am using windows Vista and i am unable to browse internet. but i am able
to ping the ip address of the router gateway, default ip address. i was able
to browse and access internet before formatting my hard disk and reinstalling
windows vista.

I have tried following these steps:
1. Checked all the services related to accessing internet.
2. reinstalled TCP/IP protocol
3. Updated ethernet card
4. Checked with a different operating system on the same connection (Windows
XP) and it works fine.
5. i have done ipconfig release/renew.

Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Does the network status shows Local only if you open Network and Sharing
Center? Can you use tracert 4.2.2.1 command to find out where the traffic
stops? This link may help too.
